Instructions for using the Bogtrotters Photograph Gallery.

 

1. Register your details and choose a VERY good password e.g. Alan%hh7^j9*
   
   
2. The gallery administrator Alan will then validate your application (it stops spam and non members from applying) and you are ready to go.
   
   
3. Download Gallery remote with Java (about 30 MB) to your computer and install it.. This allows automatic resizing etc. Once downloaded you don't need to touch it again.
4. Download imagemajik and install it as it works with Gallery remote to display the images you wont need to touch it once installed.
   
   
5. Login to the online gallery and choose where you want to put your photos so for example if you have photos from a Sunday walk on your computer the open the folder on our gallery for Sunday Walks.
   
   
   
   
   
6. Click on the Sunday walks main folder and you will see albums from other Sunday walks. Go to the sidebar on the left and click on the little icon to open the sidebar.
   
   
   
   
7. Choose add album if no one else has created an album for that walk.
   NOTE
   (if someone else has already created an album and added photos for the walk you were on, then just click on that album to open it where you will see the photos and then just add items to that existing album)
   
   
   
   
8. Fill in the details with a name and a title to your new album. You can also add a summary, keywords, description. (you can do all this later if you want)
   Click “Create”.
   
   
   
   
9. The next step gives you the option to edit and customise your new album. Skip it and directly add your photos.
   Click the " Add items" option on the left sidebar.
   
   
   
   
10. Choose upload Applet from the top right button and select all your photos (as many as you want in one go) and click the resize and thumbnails button. You can add comments now or later (or not at all!)
    
    
    
    
11. Now click Upload and hey presto its done!
    
    
    !Caution!
    
    A word of warning DO NOT delete any album in particular the top ones like Sunday walks as you will delete all the photos and sub albums inside it. However if you have just created an album and have only your photos inside it then its okay to delete this. If unsure let me do it.
